Lent 2019 Worship Schedule

Lent 2019

Pieces of the Passion 2019

Lego Pieces and the Passion of Our Lord

March 10 - Cross

March 17 - Crown of Thorns

March 24 - Spear

March 31 - Hammer

April 7 - Money

April 14 - Palms

This year, our Sundays in Lent will focus on certain physical pieces involved in our Lord’s Passion. Willingly, Jesus received each piece because of His love for you and me: palm branches for premature praise, money for betrayal, a crown of thorns for mockery, a hammer that nails His body onto the cross for crucifixion, a spear piercing His side for His blood to flow, and finally an empty tomb for our victory. Thank You, Jesus, for Your passion, Your death, and Your glorious resurrection – all for us!

Each child participating in each Sunday worship service of Lent will receive a Lego piece, representing that week’s “piece” of the passion story:  palm branch, cross, crown of thorns, money, spear, hammer, and an empty tomb. In worship, we will also be reading excerpts of the traditional Passion account which vividly depicts our Savior’s journey to Calvary. These readings are powerful, and I encourage you to read through them this season of Lent (click on "Passion Readings" below) and spend some time pondering our Lord’s Passion, one piece at a time. This week’s LEGO piece is the Palms.
